The 500 is probably adequate for a lot of situations. The biggest annoyance with the 500 is it's about 7 lbs heavier.
I run the 800 in low power mode anyway.
But 29lbs?! So worth it.

Yeah, the weight difference between the two was a big selling point. And I like the low power mode. I just bought my first active bass, so it's a good switch to have while practicing at home and switching between active and passive basses.
If you are running in low power mode get a 100v3 22lb.s
I got to try the 800 today for the first time. It appears to be the same cabinet as the 500, or at least the same dimensions. I ran a few different basses through the 800, a Precision, a Jazz and a Stingray, and fiddled with the settings and the overdrive. Didn’t push the volume very loud out of respect for the other patrons. First impression on the tone was very positive, I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are shopping for a new combo.
Had the Rumble 800 a month now and it’s been on 17 gigs already. About 5 of those gigs it’s been stacked with the Rumble 500, not at particularly large venues. I had my Mesa rig loaded in the car for a couple of NYE outdoor festival shows, 2,500 people. At the last moment I swapped it out for the two Rumbles, thought I’d try them on a bigger
Our gigs vary enough that I will probably need the extra headroom at some point.
I own a Markbass Mini CMD121 (11.9 kg) and a Markbass New York 121 Cabinet (13.3 kg), so 500 watts and two 12" speakers with a combined weight of 25.2 kg.

Uh, ... OK. I ... I'll play the Devil's Avocado for you.
A. The Rumble 800 COMBO is up to 400 watts continuous (like RMS) through two 10" Neo speakers by itself at just 13.15 kg. An ... and that's just, you know, too much power in too small and lightweight a box. Why, it's liable to blow itself up, ... and you with it! I think I heard about that once.
And 2. With the matching 2x10" cabinet, at another 17.7 kg, it goes up to 800 watts, which is, like, sure to hurt somebody! Don't you think? How could it not?
¥. And, shoot!, but that Fender combo, with all that dangerous power, costs a whoppin' $50 bucks more new than the MarkBass combo! Why, that's at least 5% more cost for just 33% more power. Yer not made of money, are ya? An ... uh, well, and that dang ol' Fender cab does cost $200 bucks less than the Markbass cab, but that's pro'lly 'cause a them thick ol' heavy metal handles on each size makin' it weigh so much that they hadda give ya a break on the price. Don't ya reckon? Yeah, that's pro'lly it. 
♤. And, so ... you know, like, what's with that stoopid Power Switch thingy, huh? I mean, who wants to pay for a super powered combo amp like that and then just cut it back to a measly 100 watts? Or, why add the cab if yer gonna cut the stack to just 200 watts?!? What's that about? I don’t care if it is just a quiet little coffee house I'm playin' in, I want 'em to really feel my thunderous bass, poundin' away at 'em ... if they stay, that is. Dang straight!
Yeah, so, no. You don't want this new Fender. Naw! Don't even think about it. It ain't for you. Let somebody else take the risks. Yer OK, as is.

The main disadvantage of the Rumble 800 is your load in only takes one trip from your vehicle, leaving you completely available for helping your drummer haul all his gear.Geez, 5er, he said to talk him out of the Rumble!

I used to have the same stack you have. I can get in the ballpark with the Fender as I did with the MB, (clean, flat EQ with a slight cut in the high mids to cut back on finger squeaks.) I really didn't use the VPF and only rarely used the VLE, but the "vintage" contour on the Fender reminds me of the VLE in that 9-10 o'clock range.
There's differences here and there, but this version of the Rumble seems to be a little more modern and has more in common with the MB than not, imo.
It's true. And you can't complain about your rig schlepping like everyone else.
There was a discussion about this on the Adam Clayton Fender bass forum. It seems to have disappeared from Fender's website and no info available. I'm guessing it was pulled for now because of supply issues. But I have no idea.
You can’t really make any assumptions based on what products are displayed on Fender’s website at any specific time. Products seem to come and go willy-nilly.
Mark Hughes, how do speakers with different magnets (neo vs ferrite) sound?
If I'll buy a 210, could I have one between the combo and the cab playing louder than the other one?
Has anybody tried their 800 combo with an external analog preamp pedal’s output plugged into the Rumble’s effects return? If so do you notice a tone difference using the pedal vs. going directly from a bass guitar into the Rumble? I always use an EBS Microbass 3 because I love the compressor in it and and it has such a warm tone. I am not a fan of the digital preamps they put in a many of the combo amps….they are too clean and bright! My EBS preamp sounds much better than my Roland DB-500 combo and my Zoom B6 effects processor. I ordered an 800 combo from Sweetwater that will be delivered Tuesday.
