Fender Rumble Club

A few months ago I picked up a used Rumble 150 head on Craigslist for $60. Worked great with my Ampeg SVT15 (with JBL E140), however I felt the JBL could take more power so I looked into swapping out the IcePower 50ASX2/BTL for the IcePower module used in the Rumble 350 head (125ASX2/BTL). The lowest price I could find for the 125ASX2/BTL was $150 shipped from China. I eventually went with a used Rumble 350 head for just a few dollars more, and I can sell the Rumble 150 head and recoup some cash. Now I'm just waiting for the Rumble 350 head to arrive!
Yeah that E140 is 8 ohms, right? so the Rumble 150 is something like 80 watts at 8 ohms while the Rumble 350 is 220 watts at 8 ohms. IIRC what the schematics say.

(EDIT : there's that stupid font issue again.... I have no idea how to fix it)

@Linnin

A while back I asked about the wadding in the v3 112 Rumble cabs and you advised me that they only have wadding on the back panel. Mine have wadding on the back and sides as well.

I wonder if some do and some don't ? Haven't checked my other cab because it's over at my neighbor's house. I'll walk down there and get it few minutes and take a look.

Anyhow, my curiosity got the best of me so I took some shots of the inside of the cab, woofer, and horn.

Weird thing that puzzled me for a few minutes was that when I reinstalled the woofer I had an extra speaker bolt lol. I'm like " what the heck ". Then I remembered there was a bolt on the side of the woofer magnet. I saw it when I got ready to take a shot of the magnet. When I pulled it off I thought it might of grabbed one of the bolts because I sat the woofer on the table near the bolts. Anyhow it was probably there when it was shipped.

Here are the photos in case no one has ever posted any on the thread. Again, Rumble v3 112...

Thanks for the photos and inside intel @lowplaces. All good information. Glad to see the lining on back and sides. Is the top panel also lined, or no? It is good the bottom panel is left naked as that is how it should be.

I wouldn't worry about the discrepancies on the woofer's wattage rating. It's just a guide. When you are pushing a driver within an inch of its life it's up to you to keep an ear out for distress.

500! The price difference is too close to pass up the bigger one. It's future proof.

Thanks for all the comments. I just got myself the Rumble 500 as a b-day present :) Tried it at the store with a short-scale Epiphone bass (which I loved to play but didn't care for the tone) and then with a Squier Jaguar (much better sound). Haven't tried yet at home with my bass, but will do in a few hours.
