Fender Rumble Club

Nice review of the Rumble 200 head and 115 cab. Always nice when they do comparisons with competitors.

Yeah Tom Bowlus gave us the heads up and posted a link on thread page 133. There is also some commentary from Fender's top engineer, Dave Lewis that I posted on page 134. That's very interesting. People rarely go back to read stuff especially in a thread this long. I have a hard enough time trying to keep track of the club. Thanks for posting, because it is indeed an excellent open-minded and fair review.

Anyone looking for truly vintage tone without the weight and expense of going to an all tube Fender Bassman 100t or Super Bassman would do well to consider a Fender Rumble 500 head on top of a pair of Fender Rumble 115 cabinets. At $1,000.00 shipped (but extra holiday savings are available now), that's one hell of a rig. Fender Precision strung in flats: engage the 'Vintage' voicing; a hint of Overdrive to mimic true tube distortion, and crank that mutha up! :woot:

Finally after a few months and few bazillion gigs i have found the right voicing I like. I have the v3 500 with a 15 ext. cab. I have used flats, coated rds, and rdwnd. I am not a mid guy at all, I know....but not for me. I put DR Sunbeams on my 72 pbass last nite for practice. Classic rock heavy DW drummer and Mesa rect. w/4x12 cab. I have all knobs except low mid set at 12 noon. Low mid at 9 with vintage and contor engaged with horn on. Fired that mutha up and MONEY in the bank. I was so happy I was drooling all over.............so I know what's your point. Well young grasshoppers be patient with your rig and experiment you will find the right combination and go to Fender heaven like i did.

I do like the tones I get from my new rumble 200 and especially with the extra 8 ohm extra GK cab I have hooked up. Still waitin to gig with it and wonderin if I should put one of my 4 ohm speakers in the cab replacing the original to get 200 watts in a stand alone? Yeah,im getting stir crazy and jumpin the gun I know! Probly need to just play it out and see and I know doin that would void warranty as well. IV got other older rigs I use but none with decent line out and im really wantin to use this regularly with PA support. Iv got a 68 drip edge 2/15 bassman cab and a Behringer 410 cab and a Crate cab with 4 ohm 15,and another I think Eminence 15 by itself that's 4 ohm so Im thinkin of putting 1 of the 15s in. Whatdyall think ? or again should I chill and wait? That GK is a 12 inch and not very heavy and makes a good stand so....help....!!!

Whatever you do, don't change out the existing stock Eminence woofer. Here's why -> Who makes the most legendary ferrite/ceramic driven 15" woofer ever made by mankind? Eminence. The Legend 158 to be exact. What Eminence has done is to custom design a 15" woof especially for the new Rumble series that rivals their most legendary Legend 158. Everyone remarks about the superlative tone mojo of these new 15's. So don't change it.

The best thing to do is to get the matching Rumble 115 cabinet so that you will have two of these glorious woofers! That will double the amount of air you are moving and give you a very nice 3 or 4 dB boost in SPL. Plus you will have the benefit of the 'coupling effect' of identical drivers. And you won't void your warranty doing it.

So sell some of that excess gear and  Rumble On!

I've had both. The 200 on loan till my 500 came in (it was a bit of a wait)! Anyway the 200 is plenty loud but don't think the 500 doesn't go low and fat because it does, by the bucket load. The 200 I had coped well with a heavy hitting drummer and two loud guitar players. We are covering stuff like "The Who" FFS!!!
Thanks all, you've all been a great help!

Not sure if you'd get the same perceivable volume using the single 4ohm vs an extension.
Ok, now I thinking after all these posts, any thoughts on the Rumble 500 head w/ the fender 410. Does anyone have this combination? If so, any more punch and bottom than the 500 v3 combo? Thanks! Still deciding here.
Oh yes, and more than just a few! The 500 + 410 cranks :woot: Is it Wiggle, or Waggle that has a Rumble 500 combo on top of a Rumble 410? Anyway Wiggle-Waggle loves it!

$400 a piece for the 500 head and 410 cab. The 410 is officially listed at 62.5 pounds. Invalid Link Removed
500 combo + 410 cab for $900. Now is the time to buy! Call your favorite e-tailer and ask for a deal.
Most likely will trade in my Ampeg PF500 combo and 1x15 ext speaker at GC. Not sure what kind of deal they will offer. We'll see. Thanks Linnin, you've been a great help!!! Be well my friend.

was running different setup configs in my head, and was thinking, if I get the 500 head separate, then I can.....

But then I keep coming back to the fact that it's only $100 more for the combo.
How do you NOT justify getting a 210 cab for $100?!?

Not like I'll ever need 500watts and 2-410's. Lol

Heck, I don't even need 500watts, but they would be nice to have.

Temping isn't it? We both have V2 Rumble 350's. What is it we actually need? What we already have? I'd love to have a Rumble 200 combo for an easy grab 'n' go do everything combo. Rehearsals. Impromptu Jams. Personal Practice.

Of course for big gigs I'd 'need' a Rumble 500 head on top of a pair of Rumble 115 cabs. That'd Work! :D
