IIRC, the Studio 40 is about twice the price of the LT25. You might consider getting a Rumble 40 instead for the same price as the LT25. It has a little more headroom, a traditional type of EQ, a decent overdrive capability, and a lot less complexity. There’s plenty of flexibility for you to learn the basics of bass playing, and it’s a great amp for home practice. If and when you feel you’d like to play in front of an audience, the line out connection of the Rumble 40 will allow you to connect to the venue’s PA system for the cost of a 25 foot mic cable.
