I’m trying to break out of my old school comfort zone, but find it too time consuming. I picked up a never used Zoom b1 x four, still in the box for $70, off CL just to see. Way too confusing for this old guy. One of these days maybe.You're not alone, GP. I plug my basses directly in my Rumbles, no effects including the built-in OD. I bought the R500c to have lots of headroom. I'm Old School too.

Indeed. Mine is a 4 channel and has effects. It is pretty much the same as my 16 channel. It has effects and phantom power. It needs the phantom power for my condenser mics I use for recording vocals.
Well, have you tried? You could get a double neck (bass/guitar), a Black Star amp, and a Schwinn and ...

Great weekend to everyone. My brand new Stage 800 was delivered on yesterday. I like the sound, the functionality is excellent. A great replacement for the Markbass 121p. But the sound of the fan is a little annoying. In my studio room is clearly audible as he buzzes. Could you please tell me, is this normal? Some people say that it should work silently. It might be a bad cooler, or maybe a noisy model. Do you have the same audible fan in it?
I have an opportunity to replace the device and not wait until the fan dies. Sorry about my English.

I have the 200 combo, and had similar concerns when I first got it years ago.Great weekend to everyone. My brand new Stage 800 was delivered on yesterday. I like the sound, the functionality is excellent. A great replacement for the Markbass 121p. But the sound of the fan is a little annoying. In my studio room is clearly audible as he buzzes. But then a strange thing happened. I forgot about it. Like a dog curling up next to you. At first, you feel the weight. After a bit, you can't tell the difference. (S)he feels like part of you.
Same with the fan. I no longer notice it.
I've recorded it a number of times through an inexpensive Sennheiser e609, which hangs over the top of the cab and lies flush with the grill cloth. It's never picked up the fan.

Just a quick aside, while I'm thinking about it. I just watched a 30 minute YT vid with Brian May talking about and playing the Bohemian Rhapsody multitracks and backing tracks.
There a short bit talking about the 3 bass tracks their engineer like to capture: DI, front-facing (like above) and room.
Adding an ambient room mic is something I've never tried. Now on my list!
One other thing Brian mentioned was that the engineer liked to play with the phases of the three bass tracks to get the fullest sound.
Another something to add to my list of things to try.

How do you like that e609 TheMaartian? I've been using a 57 to mic a guitar amp that's right next to an acoustic drum kit. But the amp and the drums are the only sources of stage volume (iems and di in for everything else) so the amp is really quiet and gaining it up enough gets me way too much of the kit.

You know, now that you mention it, I do hear the fan running in the background while things are really quiet, but I never notice it when I’m playing. I think you’ll find it’s just not very noticeable most of the time.
Sure, you can hear it if you’re trying to listen for it. I think a lot of other amps will have fans you can hear if you try.
It’s never been an issue to me and it’s never come through when I record into Cubase. I usually record direct from the outputs on the back.
These Stage 800 combo’s are a blast to play through and experiment with. Have fun with it and let us know what you think.
The constant buzz in my ears from way too many years of way too loud music obviously drowns out any fan noise as I've never heard it from my 500c. I've got my own built in "white noise"
