Ah, yes. I just always think of woodwinds and brass as being super loud from my memories of marching bands with many, many more of each. But, you're right, they are just acoustic instruments, after all. Not that much different, I guess, from my Rumble Studio, or li'l foxy Voxy, having to dial back for my Bluegrass Jams with a couple dozen acoustic stringed instruments (and occasional accordion!).

Plus, you don't want to overpower the tubas! I completely forgot that. Least I never have another bass instrument to support or compete with.​

Again, same as my Bluegrass strategy. Since some there look down on electric bass, I never want to meet their expectations and incur their wrath for being too loud. ;)​

I filled in for the regular(?) bass man for almost a year(medical issue)at one place. Large room, loud drummer, b4 I got the R100, so, yeah, 200c. Like your Bluegrass thing, I can always turn up if needed. I'm not fighting a Marshall stack. The same goes for our regular rock/jazz/dinner music group(playing Saturday night at a low ceilinged VFW). The 2 guitarists are using ~20W amps, the drummer usually doesn't play loud enuff and I can get by with the R100 @22 lbs. vs the R200c @34.5 lbs. At 76 y/o, every pound not carried helps.

I decided to get a Rumble because sometimes I just don’t feel like lugging my Orange AD200 and cabinet to gigs when the Rumble combo I got only weighs like 36 pounds and sounds great! I do have an elf head that can go on my cabinet but this combo seemed like a nice addition and I have heard great things about them. :)
