The material I’m looking at is actually a patterned upholstery vinyl. I haven’t bought it yet so no pics, but to me it’s kind of a vintage C&W/Grand Ole Opry/Rock-a-billy kind of vibe.

My little ver1 Rumble 15 is rat furry, and it is nigh impossible to clean.

Back in the 90’s I gigged with a Crate B150 head and 215 cab resplendent in black rat. I feel your pain.

Ok, anybody good with math? I’m thinking about doing a refinish job on the Rumble 150. There’s nothing wrong with it now, other than just the basic monotone blackness of it. I found some material that I think will look really cool, but I start trying to figure out how much material I’ll need and my brain starts to cramp. Or if anyone has done a re-cover on a Rumble 150 (haven’t found any on here or through ElGoog) and can tell me how much vinyl/tolex or whatever you used…
Dimensions are listed as:18.9 x 28.07 x 28.47 inches

My wife says to take your dimensions to Joann's and they'll figure the yardage for you. Apparently, different fabrics come in different bolt widths.

So this is the vinyl I’m looking at.

Well, Cap'n, 7ender has occasionally produced some special "Western" amps, but not no Rumbles that I know of. That will certainly be cool, though. Please keep us updated.

I like that advice, as Joanns is the only fabric store in town. I live in kind of a rural area so slim pickings for brick and mortar retailers.

Yes, I believe that the Amps and Cabs [BG] forum would be the correct place for a thread on re-covering your Rumble. It's already sounding like a great candidate to be linked on your Rumble Club Wiki page in the Rumble Modifications section.

I had a really unfortunate thing happen at my gig on Friday. A glass of water was spilled on my beloved Fender Rumble 500. I was basically ready to shell out for a new amp, but I let it sit for a couple days and it fired right up today sounding just as good as ever. I know I was already a pretty strong advocate for these amps before, but this just goes to show how reliable they are.
