Fender Rumble Club

Anyway, what was measured was the amps's response, not the amp+cabinet because the cab wasn't mic'd. It was just fx loop out or line out.
That’s correct. The older graphs were measured by GlennA on the FX send. I measured the output from the Rumble 40 XLR line out using a Focusrite Audio Interface and a Walrus Audio Canvas ReAmp to convert the line level output to instrument level. JUST those looped back through each other measured very flat response, so I am pretty confident of the readings from the amp.

My point is if you have a flat-ish sounding cabinet, you can always add character. But if your cabinet is colouring the signal by design, then it won't be possible (or much more difficult) to get a transparent sound if you ever wish to do so. So it's more limiting in regards to the choices you have.
I don’t have a problem with that. Some cabs do color the sound less than others, but I got a Rumble because I like how it sounds with my basses, and I don’t really need anything else. YMM, as always, V.

I would like a number to join the Club. I have a Rumble 100.

You got it, Silly! @SilboBaggins, you are now member #1686 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general and to The Club in particular. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, Silbo, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Silbo, .. Silbo ... something about that name has a "ring" to it. Hmmm, how're your feet? You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Well, it's happened....gulp.

Actually sold my Rumble 500c and 210 cab. Gone. Empty space. Cab went last month and combo today.

Long story short, I had an unbeatable opportunity to 'upgrade' to Aguilar TH500 & Bergantino 112 cabs. Went for it. Superb punch & clarity, which is applicable for new band project style with using some synth pedal sounds.

Will always have a soft spot for Rumble sound & character. Hard to define in words. Just warm & pleasing. The amp that 'chose itself' 8 years back. Considered keeping it as a spare amp but space & funds are tight. Hopefully no regrets, but bit like losing a pet?

Anyways, want to say thanks to you guys over the years, helping get the most out my Rumble rig. Good times.

Hey, don't get all teary eyed in us. You'll still be welcome here. You'll always be Rumbler #1016 to us. There ain't no quittin', nor resignin' 'round here, bub. You're one of us for life. So don't go unwatchin' this thread, either. :smug:

You've obviously got that Rumble down in your heart. So, don't be surprised if, someday it manifests itself in, first, a G.A.S. pain. Then, a hunger, or an urge. Then, before you know it, you've bought the brand new Rumble 1000, or whatever the latest is by then.

But don't fight it. You won't be the first, nor the last to broaden your horizons, only to find out "there's no place like home". We'll be here to welcome you back with open arms. ;)

Not goodbye, ... ... just "so long for now". :)

You can take the boy out of the Rumble, but you can't take the Rumble out of the boy.
