I started my bass journey in April 2023 after playing guitar for almost 60 years. I’ve taken about 14 lessons and play with a practice band.
My first bass was an Epi SG that was too heavy and poorly constructed, though beautiful. I returned it and got a Squire 60’s Vibe PJ black bass that is a short scale. I’m loving it and it has a great fit and feel.
Then I spent time at Guitar Center and held an Ibanez SR 1350B in my hands and it was love at first sight. It is light, beautiful wood, gorgeous construction and super Norstrand Pups, with passive or active modes we 3 eq knobs and a midrange switch. The range of sounds I can get is phenomenal. Check my an avatar to see it. Matched with my Rumble 100 with 5 eq knobs, overdrive, etc., the sky is the limit!
I play old rock and roll, Beatles, Blues and I will learn Reggae with time.
Unfortunately, I am obsessed with it and have developed bursitis in my left shoulder. Life is cruel sometimes.

I have a question that came up while reading another thread here on talkbass. The Rumble comes with an XLR out. Is it safe to assume that I don't have to worry about phantom power? Let's say I connect to a FOH situation and they have only a global on/off for phantom power, would that be dangerous to my Rumble?

I run my Rumble 100 XLR into my Tascam board with the global phantom power on and it has never caused a problem. I've always heard that it can cause problems with some things, but what those things are is a mystery to me. I think that some things used to have issues, but not so much anymore? I run phantom powered things and non-phantom powered things into any input without any concern.

Agree for my Rumble with the delta-comp circuit. On my GR Bass combo, I play through an EBS Mullti-Comp pedal. It helps me suck a little less.

My first bass was an [Dwarvish] Epi SG that was too heavy and poorly constructed, though beautiful. I returned it and got a Squire [Shire] 60’s Vibe PJ black bass that is a [halfling] short scale. I’m loving it and it has a great fit and feel.
Then I spent time at Guitar Center [with Gandalf] and held an [Elvish] Ibanez SR 1350B in my hands and it was love at first sight. It is light [as Mithril], beautiful [Rivendell] wood, gorgeous construction and super Norstrand [Lothlórien] Pups, with passive or active modes we 3 eq knobs and a midrange switch. The range of sounds I can get is [ethereally] phenomenal. Check my an avatar to see it. Matched with my Rumble 100 with 5 eq knobs, overdrive, etc., the sky is the limit!
I play old rock and roll, Beatles, blues and I will learn Reggae with time.
Unfortunately, I am obsessed [entranced] with it and have developed bursitis in my left shoulder. Life is [can be] cruel sometimes [after having traveled there ... and back again].

But, don't worry, your secret is safe with me. You don't need "any more visitors, well-wishers or distant relations".

Same on me while I own 200combo. Vintage button all day, EQ all at noon maybe some low mid and high mid increase to meaty up the tone. No horn on .That's all.

This EQ setting are well match for my P bass with Ti flat loaded !

I've mentioned it before, but Rumbles do have a detent at 12:00 for some reason. Fender designed them that way for a reason and a purpose. I also think it is a good place to start when EQing for a room if you walk in cold. It's not a bad tone, and with a few tweaks, it might sound better than ever. I've never superglued (not literally) my knobs in any one position because the next room might need something different.

Yeah, it's common for EQs to have this little ''stop'' at 12 o'clock (which is 0) as a quick reference, so you can easily feel when you reach that point without even having to look at the knob. In other words: you're not adding or subtracting anything.

the rumble is coming............just ordered my Rumble 100 to pair with my old Ampeg BA115 for a wet/dry rig and what I am hoping and thinking will be a great pairing....plan is for the BA115 to take the "dry" and the Rumble 100 to be the "wet" using the fx loop for mod pedals and delay......have a EHX switchblade pro to do the splitting and loop my dirt pedals before the amp! Also going to double as my guitar rig as well, have heard great things from other posts saying the rumbles are great guitar amps as well! Anyone doing anything like this?

Just for S&G, I ran the R100 at all noon(detent) w/ VINTAGE and BRIGHT 'on'/'in' last night; GAIN ~9, VOLUME ~10, O/D on "MUTE". Sounded great. EQ'ed at bass(Epi Embassy).

Would it be possible to adjust/shift the frequency of the tone controls so 12 o'clock is the actual measured flat EQ instead of having to set the tone controls to 10-2-2-10? It would be nice to be able to adjust +/- the full db range of each knob.

The EQs are flat at 12 o'clock, as they aren't adding or removing any frequencies. It's the circuitry inside the amp itself which colours the sound of your bass.

Use the EQ you have along with the Vintage and/or Bright buttons and ears . The stock EQ nobs interact with each other.

Love it!!! I don’t quite understand why guys have 5 pedal setup for bass!! They spend $3000 for a bass with a particular sound then run it thru pedals!
