Fender Rumble Club

@ Linnen ...

Well, I finally scraped together enough to buy a Rumble (V3) 200 combo ... I'm really liking that 15"

On a different thread you commented on (re: strings) ... I decided to take you up on your suggestion of GHS precision flats for my 50's classic vibe P bass ... you said that they would be a good choice for producing a solid "vintage" sound ... and of course, produce some decent "thump thump" ! Two thumbs up for GHS flats ... thx for the recommendation, Linnen
Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, pbassrules :woot: You are member #511 :hyper:
I'm certainly glad you are enjoying your Rumble 200 and GHS Precision Flats.
:D Rumbles Rule! :D

5 weeks ago I ordered an Eminence Deltalite II 2512 speaker to try if upgrading my lined Rumble V3 100 stock speaker would benefit the sound.
I just got a message the estimated delivery time has been extended a bit...by 26 weeks(!)
So can I conclude Eminence is very busy producing speakers for Fender?

I don't believe the v3 has a blend at all, just 3 gain stages and a master.

I was just wondering about that very thing @eric_B. How about the Basslite S2012?
Eminence is very busy making speakers for lots of people: Aguilar; Eden, and GK too.

The shop I ordered from over here stated 5 business days delivery time for all types of Eminence speakers that are out of stock: Deltalite, Basslite, etc. They now do mention 26 weeks for the Deltalite 2512 so I guess the first delivery time does not mean much. Only when someone actually puts out an order they will get more accurate information.

I didn't realize the fact Eminence is making speakers for other brands as well but that does makes sence of course.

two things
1. What is with the 2x10 extension on backorder from everyone? Are they selling that well? Anybody got an idea on ETA?
B. I see posts about bad overdrives. My 500 overdrive seems to work just fine, but my 25 overdrive doesn't do much. I get more mids and volume, but it doesn't really sound like overdrive. Not a big deal, it is just my private practice amp, but I was disappointed with the overdrive sound.

That's a great speaker. Here in the states they are available from quite a few retailers and not back ordered.

Not even sure how to talk this one out... I came to an interesting discovery recently.

When I picked up the SX Ursa 1 (P Bass) and strung it with actual decent strings, I decided to give it a good run through. I wasn't happy with the sound I was getting out of the Rumble using it, everything was fat, muddy, and boomy.

After experimenting around I found the problem was what the bass was doing VS what the Jazz, and Ibanez PJ pickups do...

So I went to the controls on the Rumble, and basically set every EQ setting at high noon, and engaged the vintage voicing button. Master at about 2:00 or higher depending on if practice at home, or gigging, and then gain to taste. I then fine tune the tone with the tone knob on the bass...

The settings are so stinking simple, but boy are the results something to be proud of...

Yes, the Rumble 210 is selling that well. Plus there is the problem with getting container ships unloaded at all west cost seaports. It's about a 90 day wait. There are many containers full of Rumbles bobbing in the bay, anchored awaiting their turn to be unloaded.

The Rumble 25's are what they are. $100 practice amps. I picked one up LNIB for $50 cash. I'm happy.

My 25 overdrive seemed like a volume boost w no Grit, my 40 is great with grityness

My replacement Rumble 100 has finally arrived! It's great to have it back. The old Ampeg was sold last week, so with a Rumble 40 AND a Rumble 100 I'm now officially Rumble only!

I haven't experienced any issues with the overdrive, but I won't say I'm not concerned. However the OD on my 500 works perfectly, the 200 I used as provided backline did exactly what it was supposed to. Maybe the issue is just the smaller models? I don't know for sure.

For starters, I LOVE the effect of that pic. Yeah its grainy but something about that looks good...

Secondly though, your pic illustrates something about the Rumble that DID trigger an absolute OCD fit with me. The input jack that sticks the cable STRAIGHT UP.
image-jpg.jpg

Now I'm not exactly Mr. OCD or anything, but something about that arrangement on mine just gave me the feeling like fingernails on a chalk board, so bad that even though I have piles of nice cables, I went and ordered up new cables with the 90 degree ends.

It's funny what gets under your skin, this shouldn't have bugged me at all, but boy talk about an irritiant! I just kept picturing grazing by the upright portion of the connector and breaking it off in the amp...

I am probably the only person here that this has bugged this much, I just needed to vent about it, back to your normally scheduled programming.

I'm with Big Hoss on that issue... somewhat.

I don't like the whole back-of-the-bus layout of all the v3 controls. I much prefer the classic black face look.

But it is a big cost savings which is good for us. Up front controls means taller cabinets across the Rumble line which is more cost and more weight. So I'm happy with it how it is.
And yes, I too use a 90-degree plug for the input.

I too must use a 90-degree plugs on both of my rumbles. I don't have ocd, that is why they make 90-degree plugs.
Well maybe I'm a little ocd, but only when I see something that doesn't seem right imo.

Okay I literally laughed out loud at this... And I hope you don't mind me finding humor in this, but I found this funny...

"I don't have ocd,"...
"Well maybe I'm a little ocd, but only when I see something that doesn't seem right"...
