Fender Rumble Club

@SenorSchaffer I still think you have a serious bass guitar problem. It's not your amp. Do yourself a favor and go to any major music store and grab a Fender Precision off the wall (doesn't matter if you like Precisions or not) and plug into any Fender Rumble 100 and up. All EQ at high noon with no voicing buttons engaged. Master at noon. Gain all the way DOWN. This is going to be LOUD! Run the Precision volume wide open. Shut the tone all the way down and then just crack it open about 1/3rd of a turn. You will have tons of solid bottom end and loads of volume. If that doesn't earn you the stink eye from the store manager nothing will.

Not in over 560 pages have I heard someone complain about lack of bass in a rumble. If anything, it goes more to them being too boomy.
Something is wrong.
Start with the eq at noon, no button, and adjust from there.
If the bass is still weak, then either there's something wrong with your guitar, or with the amp itself.
But yeah, trying another bass would help narrow that down quick.

I have the 500 combo with a 210 extension cab. Tons of low end, especially with the Vintage button engaged. Using either my Jazz or Precision basses, I can shake any stage or rehearsal room.

I don’t think the pickups in your bass are the issue, they should have more than enough low end. They are similar or the same pickups as the ones found in the Steinberger Spirit basses. I had one for a few years and the tone had more than enough low end to suit my needs.

Do you raise your combo off the floor when you play with your band? Perhaps that has something to do with it.

Apologies if I missed something, I only had time to skim the thread of this issue.

But I didn't see much in regards to suggesting trouble shooting. It is possible that he got a defective unit. Perhaps some speaker wiring is out of phase, or maybe even the bridged ice power modules?

Best advice would be to bring the amp and the bass to the store or a shop, and compare it with another unit perhaps.

Pardon if this has been discussed, is speaker sensitivity one of the most important factors when seeing which cabs play well together? If so, does anyone know the specs for sens on the 200 combo speaker? i'm running a genz-2-210t shuttle extension under mine (will upgrade to a rumble 112 or 115 at some point), which lists sensitivity as 110db at 1w/1m. I dont understand all that or really need to know a ton more, curious on whether I'm barking up the correct tree.... And I know, if it sounds good.... And it does, just need a little more understanding. Oh, and google has not lead me to the specs for the rumble.

My computer keeps me from logging on for weeks at a time....lol

Still Rumbling. Play another show tomorrow night.

Made a custom cover with a Fluorescent message. Will try to post a picture Friday if I can log back on. It says "You Make Me Wanna Scream."

I have some black light flashes during our show and it flashes the message at different times. It also vibrates crazily and makes the image look wild.

Fwiw- It's my understanding that fender doesn't publish those specs. Most of them are not accurate and is B.S. As most of us here purchase by our ears from my understanding.

See @btmpancake above for truth.
Running a 2x10 cab with a 115 is a long favored mixed driver combination. Put some distance between you and your mini-stack, and listen. Can you tell which cabinet most of the sound is coming from? If you can, that's bad and not a good match.

Just acquired a Fender Rumble 200,and an American Standard Jazz. I paired them up last night at Church,got some good comments,from the lead guitarist. I also have a question,on the gain,and master volume. Should they be

off,when you shut the amp off? I had all the buttons,on where the vintage,contour,and bright are located. Sounded pretty decent to me. Where the congregation sits for the service seats close to 250. I am liking the Fender Rumble 200. Any help appreciated,or opinions?

I always leave my controls just as they were when I was playing. Next time I play, I am ready. Maybe minor adjustments.

In another thread, a fellow TB'er opined that the Rumble series was unsuitable for professional use. I've heard this opinion before, and not being a professional I asked him exactly what he meant. I got a well-reasoned and interesting reply, with the main argument that the line out and effects send/return was post master, as well as some comments around general build quality. The last argument I can understand, even if I disagree, but the other two I'm struggling a little with. So I thought I'd head over to the Rumble Club and ask the opinion of you good folks. Is he right or wrong about this, and if so, why?
