so can I safely assume that when CBS bought out FENDER, they started making cheaper parts, transformers, knobs, switches, etc?
Have you tried one of your 112s with it yet?Really love the Ceramic-Ferrite magnet driven motor in the Rumble 200 combo (same driver in the Rumble 115 cabinet). It's got the MoJo. I've played through the best of the best AlNiCo magnet driven icons of the 15" rock 'n' roll bass legends, and let me tell you this new Eminence woofer rocks with the best of them. Hands down. One. Amazing. Woofer.
Is it the best? No. Is it great? Absolutely!
From what I can tell so far, the new 112 has a similar mojo to the 15
Went to GC to find some guitar string and strap yesterday. Just like usual everytime i go to GC , i love to walk around at Bass guitar showroom although i dint buy anything.
An old guy play his Fender Jazz (lot of dent and dirty maple fretboard) with Rumble 500 and Ampeg BA210, through his perform both combo sound nice and i can't tell myself which one is better. Both overdrive tone is sound in different way. BUT..... when he slap, the Rumble sound far better to my ear . And both combo stand side by side, Rumble is better sexy retro look like hi-end stuff over the Ampeg BA.

I love my Rumble V3 200 combo, she born not just for bass guitar, she can handle my Kn3000 keyboard and TK-1KV digital drum with no problem, and now she become my Squier Deluxe Strat guitar combo too, along with digitech Element multi effect , sound great with Bright button engage.

I just start learn to play elec guitar a month ago, my wife bought me a Squier Deluxe Strat BUT she dint buy me a guitar amp.
The GC's stuff show me how great the tone and the flexible from Champion 40 / 100 , i found the Champion 40 is more than enough to me. But i lick by the tone from Blackstar HT-1R. It is small and light weight to carry, unique IFS tone tweak from US to England ,and ....... tube power and preamp.
I really looked for the Fender Studio bass combo amp in 2006, and surprisingly hard to find in california. The studio bass was remarkably hard to find. Moreover, at 300 tube watts, compact, and unreachable in 2006... that was the big one! And not so sought-after. I once played a fender silver-face 6x10 monster on stage, named "super six reverb", while touring in Florida at Tampa's AT&t park, and was stage gear. That was 100 tube watts with really good speakers, and likely a great amp for guitar, but I used it for the night on an open stage playing reggae bass. It was my moment of awakening...when it comes to Fender tube amps/cabs. My rumble v3 500c and 210 are killing it today. I still remember those old days. AAAhhhhhhhh!
I am late to contribute to this thread, but I think it is well worth it. WARNING: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS: once I un-box an amp or cabinet or guitar, I spray all contacts with deoxit d5. I know it seems neurotic, and It may be. I started cleaning contacts when 10-12 years old setting up stereo for dad, with 4 big-ass speakers. Using wd40 or water in those days. All my tube amps get cleaned regularly ...(once a year), and new amps get flushed with deoxit d5. I can't explain it, but everything in my arsenal always works, basses, pedals too. cross-eyed icon. I do not endorse deoxit or any affiliates, or its anything, but damn it works! Your regular broadcast begins now now now now now now now.....
Deoxit makes a product called Faderlube which I prefer on knobs because regular contact cleaner can often remove the lubrication right off of knobs and faders. Faderlube will clean AND lubricate your knob.

You said it, the the deoxit v5 fader lube. Here's a pic. I won't suggest spraying on the knob to get results. But, if you have the chance spray it into all the input jacks and aux jacks.... a world of difference... or not!??

Yeah, I should have that it will clean and lubricate your potentiometers, but I just wanted to say lubricate your knob.
Back to the Super Six by Fender. The one I played that day at an open stage festival changed everything, tube/cab wise. Since then, nothing has been the same. Waiting to try a Fender Studio Combo bass amp. 300 watts of tube power. Till then, my v3 500c with 210.
