Fender Rumble Club

... the GC from which I ordered [my Rumble 115 cabinet], in California, apparently has no idea how to pack a cab. They advertised it as excellent condition, and the picture clearly showed no damage in the lower right front corner. Sadly, they shipped it in a rather flimsy box, with but a single layer of bubble wrap around the outside. You can see in the pic that it was, indeed, not enough to protect my cab, which also has an indentation in the top right edge, though at least that isn;t through the tolex.

This!

This is my complaint with GC.
I get the feeling -- over and over again -- that they just don't give a ****!

Long story but I will make it short. My present band now uses jam room that we rent out a few times a month. Sometimes more sometimes less. It has a basic PA but just used for vocals and a drum set..Nothing miked or DI...drummer kinda loud, three guitarists kinda loud.. Now I have a large rig for gigs but for this situation it's a PITA to transport for a practice jam..I'm not getting younger..so I was looking for a nice relatively light combo. Not gonna mention other brands but blew a speaker in one combo unit..but under warranty so traded for another etc etc.. Could not cut it in this situation..so after approx. a year of frustration and also lurking on this thread...Wednesday I bought a rumble v3 500 combo.. Took it to practice that same night...really didn't have time to mess with it beforehand but again picked up some info from this thread...set the gain at approx.4, volume just slightly less than half...everything else flat...put it on vintage mode...played my CS 57 pbass and OMG....Wow...This amp is just amazing..loud excellent sounding and super light...I've read were people say these things sound as good or better than amps costing several times more..IMO I couldn't agree more...if you're looking for a excellent sounding redicuosly loud amp...this is it..the band members were very impressed and commented on how it filled the jam room..well that's about all I can say for now and thanks to you guys on this thread educating me.:)

Great story...im saving for a Rumble purchase myself by year's end, just a toss up between 500c or separate 500 head/210 cab. Can you see this replacing/offsetting your main rig?

Oh yeah I can definitely see it replacing my main rig... (Or just not getting used as often)..I know on TB if you praise something too much you get called a fanboy...lol :D but this thing is unbelievable... Maybe it's the combination of my pbass with the amp combined... But my band members were also very impressed so it's not just me...:)

Question for you all. I've been having rattling inside my 200 combo on certain notes. Popped the speaker out, seemed like either the speaker or tweeter lead wires touching the back of the speaker, or maybe that the tweeter (body of that is inside the cab) can spin a bit. I turned it a bit until it seemed slightly snug, reinstalled speaker and rattle seems to have subsided. Does the body of the tweeter screw into the external housing, or is my tweeter coming apart?

Hmmmm ... good question. For which I have no good answer. Since you're the adventurous sort go ahead pull the tweeter completely out. Is the rattle gone? Yes? Good! Throw tweeter away. If the rattle is still there reinstall tweeter and return to Fender authorized service center for repair.

I seemed to have dodged the bullets of loose or rattling components in my cabs but...
given this price point, I think it's totally reasonable to need to peek inside and snug everything up from time to time. All things mechanical need maintenance, some more than others.

I thought I had a cabinet rattle but it turned out to be my display cabinet for scale models. At a setting as low as 9:00 o'clock it was causing the glass doors to resonate. I'm lucky because the town-homes I live in were built with a foot of sound-deadening insulation between units. At MASTER: 9:30, it causes my whole place to shake, causing me to worry about waking the 9-month-old next door.

Or show up on the local news as yet another California temblor.

It's official for me. Brought my new Rumble 500 combo home and it sounds killer with my Mustang bass. I do have some second thoughts about not getting the 100 combo, since I'm mostly playing at home alone and only occasionally playing with some friends. That being said, it does sound great even at low volume and I'd love to work up to a band situation. I'm ready to Rumble, and request a Club number.
In response to your poetic request,
The number for you I think would be best,
So your Rumble will sound like you are in heaven,
The number for you is 687.

I tried, but for more than shipping they told me they'd happily accept the return for a full refund, and I don't feel like waiting for another used 115, nor paying for a new one. I'll wait and see if this one sounds as it should - if it does, I'm not in bad shape. If it doesn't, I'll most likely buy new.
If it arrived damaged, wouldn't the shipper be responsible for making it good?

Well, we hate to say "we told you so", but...
So would you like to be a member and get a number?

If anyone sees any footage from the Donald Trump rally today, that is the St. Augustine Amphitheater stage. The very place that I rocked with my Rumble 500 head and 210 cab. (About to add a second 210 cab). I have played the Amphitheater 3 times so far.

Just an interesting tid bit of information about the Rumble and a chance to shine the spot light on my home town.
