Fender Squier P Bass Korea?

Hi all,

I’m new here and want to ask you does someone can recognize this bass body and which wood created from?
I’m planing it as a project and want to know bit more.

I don't know what it is, but im not feeling squier. Knob spacing is off, and usually they have triangular panels in the back. Unless it's an oddball....

It's my understanding that the original Korean Squiers were plywood. I've read a few articles stating that. Can you see laminations in the neck pocket. That would be one thing to look at.

That doesn't look like a Squier to me either, the knobs are in the wrong place, and the neck pocket seems to be too square.

as far as y know the MIK Squiers are plywood, but it doesn’t looks like plywood. I’m not able to see any laminations in the pocket.

Any other ideas? The earliest Japan body’s from mid 80-90s look similar as well.

The pickup location looks much closer to the neck than normal for a P as well.

It could be anything, but nothing worth very much money. The pickup routing looks pretty sloppy, and the screw holes for the back cover seem very uneven - one of them looks to be far too close to the cavity.

Doesn't look like any Korean Squier I've ever seen, and I've had a couple.

I’ll check all bases without pickquards,but there are not so much..maybe a custom project.Unfortunately I don’t have more information from previous owner. I was thinking a Korean Squier

I had a ‘91 Korean Squier II that was made of plywood, but it had a cheap 1 ply pickguard on it. I do know that they also made them without pickguards, but the spacing on the pots seems off in those pics.

I had one of those in red. Looks similar, but it's been 30 years since I owned it.

Looks like a refinished 90s Squier II MIK.

I've have seen many finished in red, some black and a few in white but never in that color of yours.

actually i think it might be a Profile bass....sold in mall music stores in the 90s

i checked all mentioned models and are close to this,but they are a small differences again the knob position or the screw whole.Charvel produced in Japan as well,I was not able to find Silhouette Australians model and Yamaha BB 300 is slightly different

I had a KorSquire P years ago. The body was plywood. The maple neck was among some of the best. Plywood BTW is a very stable wood construction, if you can get beyond the aesthetics.
