Fender Squier Precision Bass?

Hello! I have been playing bass for about 3 and a half years now, and although I spend at least an hour a day playing, I haven't owned any good quality guitars. I currently own a really crappy Legend (or Legacy) starter bass and a Samick. I am very uneducated with bass guitar manufacturers, but I'm not an idiot. I know that I currently own two very bad bass guitars.

I finally decided to start to look for a new bass, keeping in mind that I had a price range.

So I stumbled across this one, and wondered if it would be any good for someone who has been playing for the amount of time I have?

By the way, I play in a post hardcore/punk band, and am looking for a tone similar to this.

at around 1:11 and 1:53 is where you can hear it best. Im sorry that I couldn't really get a video of the bass just by itself but I really like how it sounds in this song.

Thanks guys.

Yes that's a good bass, lots of fans here. I myself have the amber/maple version, and I love it. And you should be able to get that sound with the right strings and the right EQ settings on your amp. The Duncan Designed pickup is a little hotter than normal, you should be able to dial in a nice rough tone with that suitable for what you want.
I would say yes. Keep in mind, though, if you can try one out in a store, that would be the best way for you to be sure you'll get along with it.

I got the retro squire the pino palladino one and I love it esp with flat wounds I want to upgrade the pickups I want more of that Motown vibe but its a great bass for the price I also own a 6string peavey cirrus and I play the squire just as much so good luck! And stay on the fat end!

Really like the NEW Squire "classic vibe" series. I see posts of people paying BIG money to piece together a Bass that (depending on PUPs) will never sound as nice as some of the Basses that are dirt cheap. Here's how I see it.... People who Buy the Fender headstock decal to put on their DIY Bass would be further ahead to simply upgrade the PUP(s) in a decent Squire. The same goes for screws, knobs, bridges etc, I would check Craigs for a Squire under 100.00 and use the hardware from that. I dont see the point spending up to $100 for a pickguard, or over $50 for Tuners, a bridge, etc. A Squire classic vibe P Bass w/ a pair of EMG actives or whatever you like would be more suited to wear a Fender headstock logo then a Mighty mite, or a Warmoth..IMHO.
