I have one: player Plus, that I replaced the neck on: bought as a loaded body. Also, I’ve been dying to try a Meteora, but I have to agree with your opinion on the colour combos, and local stores *never* have them in stock. Guitars yes, basses no.
Local GC has one, same finish. I'm thinking of going to check it out this evening.I've never been particularly moved my their MIM line, but I saw this at Guitar Center recently. View attachment 7221052
152 basses there.
Everything else was hanging on the wall but the Fender was sitting in a stand right inside the door to the bass room, just asking to be picked up and plugged in.
Twenty amps on the floor but for some reason, only an Ampeg Rocket was actually plugged in so I used that instead of a Rumble.
Must've played for half an hour or more...looked very nice with the Candy Cola finish, but I think a black pickguard would've looked better...that's just nitpicking, though.
Played along with my ipod as I always do...maybe a dozen rock songs, both hard and soft.
It's definitely all about the tone with this one. I'd rather buy one of these than a new Player II, even if the Player II came with a Fender Rumble 40.

Nice looking neck !!!I have one: player Plus, that I replaced the neck on: bought as a loaded body.
The Opal Spark is nice
Freestone neck, Chechen fretboard, nitro finish, repop logo, carbon fiber tuners, hand cut brass nut.
Really nice. The Fireball pickups are ballsy and wide range. Considering trading it away:
Dm me.
I've always liked Fender's darker reds.
Not sure which site I downloaded image from but it's probably lighting. But shine on stage lighting !
Curious that few Indo Fender std P i try at guitar store couple weeks ago has no such yummy yellow tint maple wood like the image you share. Shooting / lighting Color temperature issue ?
That flame in the maple is incredible.I have one: player Plus, that I replaced the neck on: bought as a loaded body.
