Can anyone tell me what these Tony Franklin P Bass weigh? I'd love to have a fretted version, but may ultimately convert my American Special P Bass into a Franklin by picking up a PJ set and a three way switch. The AmSpec only weighs 8.4 pounds and has the best P bass neck I've ever played. I'd have to sell it to make room for the Franklin plus cough up several hunderd more, and for far less than that I can convert my favorite bass and have pretty much the same thing.

My TF fretted weighs about 10 lbs. It is my heaviest P bass, and it has the fattest neck.

I really like the feel of the AmSpec slim necks.

In fact, I converted my favorite AVHR '60s P bass with a switch and an AmSpec neck.

Oh, yeah. Note that the TF basses have the '70s Jazz pickup position, which is about 0.5" closer to the bridge than most of the other factory PJ models.

I've played both the fretted and fretless models at True Tone Music in Santa Monica, CA. I too found them all to be uniformly excellent in build.
The neck is fantastic. I think the ebony fingerboard is the prettiest of the available fingerboards, although I found that one a little "grabby" if you will.
But all in all I agree with TMARK, above, about the superior quality of this model.

Old thread but I'm thinking of trying to find one, I have the TF fretless and it is probably the best playing P bass I've ever played, that and it sounds great too. The only thing I did to it was have another volume control put in it and had a side mount jack. I kept the switch in it. There's something about these pickups that make it really sound good, plus I like Nitro a lot better than the poly paint, I wish they had made them in Sunburst though. Only difference from most of these posts here is that mine has a slim neck, almost feel like a J neck to me. Mine is about a 2015.
