Is the resale any different from the 4+1?

Older models were five-in-line. And the MIM are still made that way.

If you really need a 5-in-line headstock, you'll need to find an older model.

I have found a MIA 5-in-line at a rather absurd price - reason I was asking about the resale.

I don't really know about the market, but I'm pretty sure the can (and should) be find for rather cheap.

They changed in 2008. IMO those and later tend to play and sound better. Just my .02

Not all MIM's are. The Standard is 4+1 and the Deluxe is 5 inline. Squier basses are still 5 inline.

The general preference seems to be for 4+1.

The Standard line used to have 5-inline Gotoh GB7 tuners, pau ferro fretboards, and more color choices.
