Hey guys and gals!

After playing my "new" Fender Victor Bailey Jazz Bass for a while I am considering making a few adjustments/maybe enhancements. Please give me as detailed info on your experience as you can. I've heard a lot of different instruments, but sometimes its harder to discern when I'm at the music shop. Just so you know I mainly play funk, r&b, gospel, pop/rock, and on occasion jazz with this baby. I like the sound to be articulate clean highs, aggressively smooth mid-range, and a tight/focused/thunderous low end. I know its subjective and is difficult to find in an all in one package. I do want it to be a beast 4 string though. Nonetheless please give me your opinions and why.

The pick ups- SCN on there now (which are fine), but I'm thinking nordstrand or lindy fralin

The on board preamp is supposedly a no bells and whistles pre, which is ok by me for now. I'm thinking (respectively) nordstrand, sadowsky (maybe not because I plan on getting a bass from him in a couple years), glockenklang, audere, or aguilar.

Bridge: ABM, schaller, or leo quan

Thanks for your input

The Dimarzio Area J or Fender Super 55 J sets are 2 sets to consider.

Both sets are split coil, but sound great and close to single coil IMO.

I've also used a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack J set; it is a little lower in volume, has slightly thicker mid range, and might also work with a good pre-amp.
