Fender Vintera '60's Jazz Bass - NBD !!

... this past weekend ...

I had previously bought an American Performer Jazz Bass in Olympic White and for the life of me I could not get on with it so I sent it back.

I then found this bass online at a second hand shop and decided to take a gamble..I was never a big fan of the Vintera necks but this colour combo and reviews made me want to give it a go.

What a difference. Honestly I am not sure what people see in these American Performer Yosemite pickups. They were awful and low output whereas this Vintera sounds warm, good balanced output, vintage and overall so much better than the AM Performer.

Finish and quality control is just as good if not better than the AM performer.

Sure, neck is a bit chunkier and more glossy than the AM performer but for once I rather have the glossy feel of this Vintera than the Satin of the performer.

Overall I'm glad I did the switch to this. Only downside is the annoying vintage style truss rod adjustment that requires loosening the neck whenever I want to make adjustments to it. Other than that all good!
