Fender Vintera III

Lower the bridge so the E string doesnt rest on it, Raise the saddle accordingly. I ordered a Staytrem Bridge.
Thanks I have raised the action of all the strings to suit my preference. but now when I engage the mute its useless as the strings are higher and not catching it. Is this normal ? Will I have to remove the bridge and raise the mute slightly ? thanks

If you remove the bridge, you’ll see that the mute is attached with 2 screws either side. Loosen them and the mute will rise (spring tension of the plunger). The flip-flop functionality is independent from the bridge height.

Thanks! Obviously raising the saddles has raised the strings higher so naturally will need to raise the mute as well
You know you can raise the entire bridge up and down, by poking a small hex wrench in the holes of the bridge post? On my offset Fenders, I use the saddles solely to set the radius, but the height is dictated by adjusting the entire bridge up & down. By raising the saddles too much, the adjustment screws start to point upwards, which is rather hurtful for the wrist.

I believe the staytrem bridge simplifies things a bit, and ordered one for my VII Staytrem bridge for Bass VI | Staytrem
