Fender vs Gallien-krueger

Overall I really like what Fender has recently done with their bass amps.
Their Bassman 250/210 sounds great, only drawback, it can't run an external cabinet. Two 10's maybe all you'll ever need but, it'd be nice to have the option to run more speakers with the internal ones if the gig required more coverage.
What you have, (2-10's), is what you've got.
I'm not sure if the G.K. MB combos are capable of running a external or not.
G.K. has had some problems with the MB series of heads in the past but I believe they got it solved.
Of the two you listed, I'd lean towards the G.K.
I've been using a G.K. 800 head for over 25 years, not a single problem from it!

Perhaps I'm missing something..... I just don't understand why you wouldn't set your combos up to run an extension cab. I'd rather get lower wattage with it standalone, just so that I can add a cab. Like the MB212.... I'd rather have 250 or 300 watts standalone...... It would sound so much better with the full 500 watts and more speakers.

I read somewhere that Fender's reasoning was something like......."We run it at full power to the internal speakers because you bought a combo for convenience. Your not going to have to carry external cabs to get full power."
I can see both sides of this reasoning.
If the combo is a bedroom pratice/ very small gig amp I can see the fixed set-up.
If it's a working musicians gig amp it'll need the option to be flexable.
This is the reason I've always went with a head and cab rig.
I can mix and match cabs to the job.

I just got the GK MB 210 Combo and gigged with it New Years eve and I was totally blown away by the tone, big sound and the portabilty(33 freakin' lbs.). I did order the GK 115 Neo for an extension can as the 210 combo has a speakon connection for an extension cab. I plan on laying the 210 combo on its side on top of the 115 cab.

Get the GK...you won't be sorry!

ya... lol im looking into both of them to i found a relay good price on the fender it waz almost 300$ at guitar center used while the gk waz more but haz beter reviewz. aaaaaa i dont know what to pick. if i had the money id buy the gk but i dont
