OK so I've decided to go with a 100 watt bass amp for playing in a 2 piece (or 3 w/ a cajun) acoustic-electric classic rock venue. I lolay bass on some tunes. (Fender P Elite ii, Jazz, and Fender acoustic bass w. Assorted others. Already have a big rig. (Too much-too heavy) and a practice amp.(Dean Markley Spectra 30watt) Great amp but too small. $ is sort of an issue. Not spending $500-$1000 on a 100w bar amp. Keeping with the basics. FenderRumble V3 112 100w or thePeavey MAX 110 100w. Dont say listen toboth. Inthe store all things are equallt scewed. Like the peavey tiltback. Cant get over the 10in speaker. OR a 12 for that matter. The Fender Rumble V3 200 w a 1X15 tweeter is another choice. It's actually only 140 watts with out the extension cab. Now 100 vs 140 watts may not be noticeable, but it might give a tad more headroom and the 15 may dispurse sound better. Lets face it, im not going into a mosh pit metal acid rock large venue. Just small bars & pubs to have some fun playing out again. Looking to know if the bass response on the first two is adequite and if the Rumble V3-200 might be too much. Any suggestions?
