Fender vs Warmoth

I have been a fender player for over 40 year's, over the year's fender has slowly lost it's attention to detail, set up from the factory. fender is a American co. it's to bad they have to let other country's throw the guitar's together. I went to warmoth about six year's ago and have never looked back, if your looking for a Quality made guitar bass neck or body it's all there. Tell warmoth what you want, they deliver.

I've recently considered Wormoth as a great option to get that fender tone. But the more research I do the more I feel I'd like to drop the money and get an old school fender...

But as a cheap option would Wormoth be worth it?

I recently wrestled with this and went Warmoth (again) -but after all is said and done the result will cost significantly less than a similar Fender. The thing I find funny is that the boutique builders can buy "oem" bodies and necks from places like Warmouth, slap there name on it and charge twice the price as Fender for a "custom bass" - but when we do it it's deemed less valuable than fender - in many cases for the exact same parts, funny.

If resale is of no concern, I would definitely go Warmoth. If you care about resale, go all Fender. The option of hybrid with Fender neck on a Warmoth body really doesn't make much sense to me, because in my opinion, you can get a much nicer neck from Warmoth that is reinforced than a Fender neck.

Warmoth all day long.I've never gotten anything from them I didn't like.I've been using their parts back to when they used to snail mail a photo copied paper "catalog"USA CUSTOM GUITARS is another option.You can usually can and talk with the owner and hash out what you want.

Dont forget about Musikraft, USACG, Mighty Mite, or other makers of fine Fender-like parts.. You can even buy Fender parts from Fender now. Warmoth isn't the only shop setup to do custom work for home builders or luthiers.

I built my own warmoth and have to say the quality is second to none. I compare it to carvin. it's the best quality for the money imo. got a mahogany body, flame maple v shaped neck with maple fretboard, SS jumbo frets, shaler loking tuners and Wilkinson floating tremolo. it's my #1 go to guitar. I'm sure there basses are just as good.

This thread is still going I stand by my Fender, Warmoth, USACG hybrid basses as the answer for me. There's also WD and All Parts (not much on Mighty Mite). IF it works for you......use it - resale be damned

Ive been a fender player since 1962, back in the day gibson and fender were the two names, like every young kid back then i wanted a fender after i went to a venture's show and watched nokie edwards bend some string's and bob bogel knocking out the bass. to this day i still play a jazz bass but it's a warmoth jazz with a tele bass neck, and the craftsman ship is better then what i remember from the 60's and what's going on today.
