I am not the body builder, so it may not belong in ‘luthier’s’.....builder is a non-pro friend. I’ve been assembling some pieces, and have a birdseye maple P neck on the way from Warmoth. Haven’t decided on the finish yet, but it will have to be see-thru, check out the lumber...

I haven’t seen it in person or handled it yet. Chestnut, supposed to be quite light.

We started over on the project. Body was too thin to house battery compartment, and it was builder’s first swing at it so he was very willing to start over. It’s coming along very nicely, spalted (I forget just now, cottonwood?) over light swamp ash.

Apparently it’s very soft, and there’s a lot of filler in it. I was right about the cottonwood part

How thick is it going to be?

Fenderbirds rule. Mine is a Saundersbird - Epi body, late 80's Saunders P-neck (made for Saunders at the newly created FCS), Kubicki Factor 9v electronics, Wilkinson HB pu's, Hipshot Supertone bridge (string-thru) and Hipshot drop-D E tuner/late 80's Fender small plate/large clover tuners. A rock-machine.
