Fernandes Replacement Pups

I just got done re-finishing my fernandes bass and am looking to put new pick-ups in as long as i'm at it. I was researching pick-ups earlier and couldn't find any to fit the holes. Its a 4 string J-Bass. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions as to where I can find something to fit? Thanks!

Ferdie has done a few different seris of J style basses. The LE's or 'Historic' ones I've seen would take a J replacement pickup no problem. Seems like there are some J looking basses they did with soap bars's too. Generally these were J layout but LP style (V/T, V/T - 4 knob controls). If your bass is one of those, then you'd want to get the dimensions and start reading sites like Nordstrand, Bartolini, EMG, etc ...

I have a Fernandes PJ that I put a set of DiMarzio 126's in no problem and my Fernandes "the Function" Jazz has Fender vintage noiseless pups in them. So if normal J pups won't fit the bass may have used a soapbar type of pup. Take measurements and search would be the best idea.

Check out Japanaxe. There are a few members with a wealth of knowledge on Fernandes basses.
