Double Bass Festival Season Help Needed

I had a few questions about storing/caring for my bass during festival season. I love having my upright with me for late night jam sessions and killing time in between shows but I'm very concerned about heat/moisture.

I don't have the luxury of having two instruments. I have a festival memorial day and two paying gigs the two weeks later. I can't afford to have my bass out of commission.

Any suggestions? What can i do to protect/care for my bass while it/I live in a tent for a few days?

I would strongly recommend not taking a full wood upright to a festival. You should try to rent/borrow/buy a nsdesign or some other kind of silent/ stick bass. The moisture in the air will ruin anything you leave outside overnight. I also wouldn't help but worry that my bass is being used as either firewood or a pipe!

Can't help with your question, but I'll add my two cents anyway: For me, a festival would be way too dangerous for a DB. I assume you will have your DB in your tent with you. Imagine a drunk person falling into your tent on top of your DB...

Or do you have your car with you? In that case, nevermind... I'd still be concerned about heat/cold/moisture etc. as you said.

A ply bass should be fine. Most if the moisture issues, IME, happen in the wee hours of the morning after a hot day or after a few hours around the campfire. If your case/bag goes back on it before the temp. drops too much or before you leave the fire, it's quite a bit more protected from condensation.

Thanks guys-

It is a ply bass so I assumed it would hold up a little better I would never bring a carved bass out to something like this. Would it help if I bought a de-humidifier I could throw in the bag with it just for extra measure?
