DaMarcus Beasley has to be pushing 40. I think he's older than I am. I'm sure Jurgen is hoping and praying someone else can step and take that spot.

If Timmy hasn't played in nearly two years that would be more reason to start him today. Jurgen needs to see how he plays and combines with his teammates in a match and not on the training field.

I think it would be a good experiment to ditch both Jozy and Waldo for at least a half and see how they play without a No. 9. Let Bradley, Zusi, Johannsson, Dempsey, and Mix play together with a single holding mid.

This was the first time I've seen Brad Davis play and I was not impressed. He even made a few moves that looked downright amateurish.

I agree that Brad didn't have a great game today. He did provide both assists in the previous friendly though. His specialty is set pieces - the dude makes a killer free kick, which he didn't have an opportunity to really show today. Fully agreed on your offensive ideas.

I say 3 weeks of caring, 49 weeks of waiting.
I'm rooting for S. Korea & USA.
So. Korea sending only 5 players from epl & 5 from bundesliga. Remainders are pro footballers but in inferior leagues but remember it's practically the same squad that won the olympic bronze so don't scratch them yet.
Going against: Algeria, Belgium, Russia

He is a notable step down from Ribery, the third best player in the world last year(perhaps second), but he's a quality player in his own right, and France are lucky to have a player like him to step into the breach.

W.C. Prediction Game If You Want To Play

OK chaps we are getting very close to kick off (or it all kicking off, one or t'other)

So if you would like to take part in the age old game of predicta-a-result, I have me trusty Excel Spreadsheet at the ready....(Denizens of TBOT English Football Thread are familiar with this one)

Here is how it works:

I've split the Group Stages into 4 rounds to make it easier.
I will list the matches included in the Round.
You post a list with the match number and your predicted score:
e.g.
1. 1-1
2. 6-0
etc.

I will enrol anyone who wants to play and you get points awarded as follows:
Correct Outcome: 1 point
Correct Home Team Score: 3 points
Correct Away Team Score: 3 points
Correct Score: 3 points

So a potential 10 points per match.
Four rounds for the Group Stages and then we go on to the other rounds - will post our own league table at the end of each round.

So if you want to play, here are the first round matches, just post the match number and your predicted score and I will get it all moving - equally , if no-one wants to play that's fine too!!
