Finally, A Good Use For AI Music

My friend David gave me a CD of this album a month ago. It’s about his long journey with Parkinson’s disease. It took him two years to record it, doing a lot of digital editing and recording phrase by phrase on guitar and keyboards. Then he had the rest of the music fleshed out by Suno AI, including almost all of the vocals. He’s starting to write another album but told me as his playing skills diminish further he may have to use AI to generate all of the music.

From his liner notes:

Blues guitarist since 1967, Home Studio Enthusiast since 1996, Parkinson's Disease since 2017. I made the album "My Friend Parky" over the course of the last two years. I had a fair amount of difficulty because of my diminished skills. I started looking into Ai. Eventually I came to think of Suno Ai as my bandmate / collaborator. Somewhere around 40-50% of the music is played by Suno Ai.

You can find it here at Bandcamp.

So excellent that he has the tool of AI at his disposal. Also, very cool that he openly acknowledges the role of AI, and the reason for AI, in his music. Seems like a win all around!
