I have been in a number of Facebook groups since I picked up the bass(es) again after a 10 year break right before the pandemic. This forum has popped up as a topic of discussion in pretty much all of them so I am finally biting the bullet to come check it out!
My name is Paul and I have been playing bass on and off since 2002. I was in a local Metalcore band from 2002 to 2006 before we all parted ways to attend college, join the workforce or whatever life paths we decided to follow. I moved from Northeastern New York to Rhode Island for college where I didn't play much bass at all between 2006 and 2010. I dabbled a bit every now and then, but right when the pandemic hit I thought what better way to spend my time isolated at home than getting some bass back into my life.
I am currently in 2 bands; a metalcore-ish band with some friends from high school that gets together every month just to jam around and write some stuff and a cover band that is making heavy some of the classic rock and punk tunes from the yester-years.
I am always trying to learn and get better. I have no formal training so I am learning on the fly.
