Finally full tube Ampeg SVT preamp in a pedal format

I love SVT sound but I don't need 300 watts. For ages I have tried to seek for relatively close copy of SVT preamp circuit as kit or commercial pedal. I admit the best pedals on the market trying to capture it are pretty decent sounding. I was delighted to learn Uraltone has engineered a SVT preamp kit in pedal format. Definently a must buy for myself.

Here is the building instructions is finnish with pictures: UralTone SVT Preamp - kuvitettu rakennusohje Kit has been anounced a week ago so they do not yet have the full kit as order item in store but I will propably appear there in coming weeks.

Power is provided with external 12VDC PSU and voltage is then internally boosted with some sort of voltage increasing circuitry for +300 volts what tubes need.

Just get an Ampeg rackmount from the 1990's. I have the SVP-Pro and the SVT-IIP. They are just the preamp, without the power section of the Full Tube SVT's. The SVP-Pro is based on the SVT-2Pro and the SVT-IIP is based on the SVT-2 Non Pro. I use them in my studio and on the road with a QSC Power amp.

Nothing beats the rackmount pres that Ampeg built as mentioned above. They had something like 6 tubes in them. I have the SVP-CL and SVT-IIP and they are magnificant.
About $500 on the used market.

I had an SVP Pro when sporting a rack setup in the 90's. It did sound great but I'm currently enjoying an SGT-DI w/ an Edison and it's lightweight & small footprint.

That looks really interesting, keep us posted on the status. I've been looking for an "Amp-less" solution with a decent tone, and I really like the thought of an SVT tube driven preamp in a portable package. I'd love to hear some demo's. Looking at the website, the build would be right on the verge of my soldering skills but probably a fun project if the price is right.

I know from experience the 8x10 is also part of the 'SVT' sound so many covet [along with power tubes]

Is there a first rate IR of SVT Amp and 8x10 is a single pedal? Two Notes seems to have SVT 8X10 IR; any good?
