Sold off some equipment and am finally ready to get my first RIC. I have played a couple in the store so I know what to expect. The important part is the tone… I LOVE the RIC tone!

here are my options:

2017 4003s in Jetglo
It’s the cheapest and in great condition. Original bridge (I will replace this) but it does come with a treble bezel. It is 3 hours away.

2019 4003 in Fireglo
$300 more but it is local and has the new RIC bridge so no Hipshot necessary.

NEW 4003 in Fireglo or Mapleglo
$350 more than the 2019 and $650 more than the 2017. Shipped straight to me. Comes with warranty. New style bridge. One truss rod.

I love shark fin inlays and the binding but there is plenty of time for me to get my dream RIC. I appreciate the simplicity of the S model and I don’t feel like it is any less of a RIC than a regular 4003… especially since Macca and Squire both used them. I’m on the fence with fireglo because some have a more yellowish center and I don’t know how I feel about it. I like the Mapleglo but I think Jetglo (between these three options) is my fave.

I’m just having a hard time deciding. The extra money on each step is justified and worth it. But ultimately I’m looking to get the RIC tone and all three options will get me there.

Thanx for the help!!!
