Finally Got An Explorer....

Oh okay. In your pic they look something like this to me:

Which is why I asked. :)

Cheers guys, and yeah, Eagle, I forgot my pic was taken from above, looks more like those minibuckers.

I definatly want to get a third pickup for it, if I can get another TB+
A set of Ultralights(with d-tuner), and a brass Hipshot A bridge and it'd be perfect.

Alrighty, got some more work done on this beastie.

I added a Rio Grande Pitbull pickup, in the bridge position,
Chrome pickup rings,
Hipshot Ultralight tuners,
Hipshot A bridge, brass model,
Hipshot three string retainer,
and a pretty wicked wiring setup.
Each of the three toggles is an on/off, for one of the pickups, master volume and tone, both of which are push/push pots, the volume when pushed acts as a bypass, sending the bridge pickup straight to the output jack, skipping all controls, and pickups, bar the effect the other push/push has, which is a coil split, for the bridge pickup.

This is how it looks now, and I'm closing in on the home stretch, just a few more jobs now,
I'm making a nickle nut for it, to match the fretted notes better,
I'm replacing the ugly grey/white dots, with abalone,
I *may* paint the headstock black, and pop on a custom logo,
I *may* fill in the holes from the Tune-o-matic bridge, and string through,
I thinking if I want to make it string through, its possible with the Hipshot bridge,
and finally, I may refinish it, a metallic green, or such.

It really is a lot of work, but yes, worth it completly, by time I'm done with it, I'll have a one of a kind.

The Hipshot stuff was a godsend, it had terrible neckdive, but now it has decent balance standing, and truly fantastic balance sitting down.

More work done today, I got the nickle nut installed, needs some final carving , but its on there, and the open notes sound much more like fretted notes, I also installed a treble bleed, so the tone dosen't muddy up as I roll down the volume, and lastly for today, I got the abalone dots done.

I also got some somewhat better pics done.
