Finally it's NBD!!!!!!

In reality it's also my first bass day. I have been waiting six weeks for Christmas to come and get my gift cards for my lifelong fruition of my bass playing dream. I did some research, poured all over the stores website daily watching the inventory change. I did my research here on TB, and took everyone’s advise to heart. I went into the store with a short list, and came out with something different. I held it, played it, and everything clicked. The bass chose me. My first bass is a Fernandes J. Just letting her finish warm up, and the wife wont see me for the rest of the night.

I am so ready to start this journey, even at the ripe young age of 41!

mine is MIJ and the body is more traditional than yours. where is yours made?

Great choice! About 7 yrs ago I had one of those in sunburst, I've always regretted selling it because they seem to be fairly hard to come by around here.

Not sure. My serial number is 103364 but with Fernandes there is not a good way to find anything out that I could come across.

Lovely instrument. My first one was a sunburst Ferd "lawsuit" P, with "elephant-ear" tuners. I like the headstock shape and the Gotoh-style tuners on the J.
