Finally... my sound rocks!

I am posting this for no other reason than sheer relief; that after many many false starts, tweaking and re-tweaking, wondering whether I had bought the wrong amp/bass/pedals... dialling up sounds on knobs, only to find the sounds I created didn't cut it... questioning everything...

finally... MY SOUND ROCKS!!! :bassist: Oh, such sweet fury coming from my cabinet. Every note defined. Both basses sounding they way I always knew they could. Pop, I stomp on a pedal and BAM... another rock'n sound... :smug:

Dang, it feels good.

Now I just gotta take twenty polaroids of where I set the dials/knobs/pots/sliders/buttons/controls, so I can reset it all after I inevitably trip and bump them

I am running a Fender American Deluxe Precision 4-string or Musicman Sterling 4-string into Boss TU12 tuner (on all the time), Boss LMB-3 limiter (on all the time), Dunlop 105Q bass wah (occasionally), Digitech Bass Synth Wah (occasionally), into a Sansamp BDDI (on all the time, on one of three settings), then Ampeg SVT3 Pro head powering an Ampeg 410HLF cab (with the rear tone control maxed).

I am playing driving rock/funk/dub stuff with a drummer and didgeridoo player, and we are occasionally joined by a vocalist. I slap and play with my fingers.

I have mucked about with settings for ages, but (with the help of Talkbass) I think I have got it... the sound is fat, full, like I have imagined it in my head for a long time, but never quite got close to.

Photos soon, if I can manage it...

Wow. That is an unconventional band setting...
I can not exactly imagine how you sound, but the idea sounds refreshing! (And, I guess your band sounds... let's say "mellow" - not much ear pinching high mids going on from your stage!)

I have not really found "my" sound yet, but funnily, the Digitech box and the Ampeg SVT 410 HLF are both on my GAS list, and I already have the Precision. Maybe I am getting there, too? :D
