Finally played my Fridge live; I get it

I finally got to play my 70's Flatback 810 live in a show last night with my V4B-RI. Wow... I get it now. (Full disclosure; the speakers were replaced with 2005-ish USA-Ampeg-Eminence speakers; not the original CTS Alnicos).

I still prefer the sound of my V4 cab with Basslites in it, in general, but the Fridge live for Rock... nothing quite like it.

(and I was smart enough to put the beer on the ground, not on top of the amp... )

I have a 2 X 15" folded horn "fridge" I like.

Dumped the fridge many years ago . No regrets . Although I gotta admit it did sound great .

I was seriously considering selling mine; I had not moved it out of the basement for the entire year that I owned it. My V4 and 2 svt201av's were more than sufficient for practices and shows (and much easier to move).

For this outdoor show, though I figured I'd bring out the big guy and give it a shake before making the decision. It's staying.

I'll likely only use it every now and again, but for outdoor shows, it'll be a serious contender.

Agreed, there is nothing like playing through an 8x10 cabinet. I’ve done a few shows recently where they’ve been provided back line and opened for a few touring band that use them.
