Do you mean that the higher he goes the more obvious it should be to the pilot that the world is not flat, out that there is some reason that one could not go especially high above a flat Earth?

I say either he won't make it up there if he's lucky, or he will burn up or crash coming down. If you don't understand the earth on which you're launching from, you probably shouldn't be building and riding in rockets. Just like if you don't know how to hammer a nail you probably shouldn't be building houses.

If i read this right this is just the first of many launches. He hopes to get high enough to see the ice ring that keeps the oceans from running off the earth.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper and easier to buy a plane ticket? He could go much higher and have a much better chance of returning to (flat) earth, instead of being flat when he returns to earth.

So many unanswered questions. Does his rocket have "ACME" stamped on it? Will his flight suit be a Wile E. Coyote costume? On his descent, will the rocket be spinning like a pinwheel, doing an end over end roll, or will it come down like a dart? Has his insurance company cancelled his policy?

The article states that the altitude will be at 1800 feet AGL, above ground level, and the horizontal flight path will be one mile long. Lets see, at 500mph that breaks down to a flight time of only 8.33 seconds plus maybe a few seconds for acceleration and deceleration. Wow...that is a lot of G's to pull for a 60 year old. The article did not state if there is a parachute in his design or not. If I were a betting man, I would say that Darwin is going to rightfully intervene and this will not end well. I guess we will find out on November 25th.
