Finally...

After 4-5 months of waiting, I finally have a bass guitar. :bassist:

I got it today at my local Guitar Center. It had a kinda big scratch, but other than that, she's a beauty. If your wondering, it's a Schecter Damien 4 string. I haven't put it down. It's my first bass, and I absoultly LOVE THIS BASS. I'm just looking up tabs and hanging with my buddy. Any advice on life, bass, or what to play?

Learn some scales! Tabs are helpful for a quick start but scales will help you learn where the notes are on the neck.
That way, you wont have the deer-in-the-headlights look if someone asks you to play a song you dont have the tab for. After all, not EVERY song you want to learn has been tabbed.

As far as what to play? Thats easy-play whatever the heck you want!! Blues, metal, jazz, latin, bluegrass, classical, country, reggae, ska, swing etc-WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!!

Enjoy yourself and have fun! Thats what most of us on here do!
