FireWire Solo opinions

IMHO, the m-audio interfaces are a decent bang for the $$$. I picked up a Solo for my father last year and he uses it for professional voiceover work and has no complaints. I hadn't messed with it to know how well it would work with other stuff, but it seems like a good little unit... as long as you don't need to record more than 4 simultaneous inputs. It feels pretty solid, it's very compact, and seems to sound decent.

A few other bonuses:
- It's pretty cheap for the options it includes... think I picked it up for around $150 shipped.

- You can run ProTools m-powered or pretty much any othe DAW software with it.

- It has a S/PDIF connection so you can bypass the internal A/D conversion or pre with 2 channels of something nicer later on if you want via the S/PDIF connection.
