First Bass Project

So I finally decided to build a bass, I didn't want to mess with the neck because I'm leaving for college in a month and a half, so the neck is Warmoth. The body is cut from a walnut slab my boss gave me, and is going to be topped with a bookended figured myrtle top. I'll put up some pictures

Just finished assembling the Mike Pope Preamp with a stacked V/t, low mid, hi mid, stacked B/T, coil tap, A/P switch, and mid freq switch. Still waiting for the Delano tender 6 pickup to ship

Thanks man. So I my question is what kind of finish to use. I don't want a poly I want a thin coat that brings out the grain of the wood
