first build...getting there

yesterday i glued the wings on and today i sanded 60 80 120. tomorrow will be a lot more 120 and so on. then i need to find 17/32 bit for those tuners. 17/32 *** is that? 1/2 is too small and 9/16 too big?

i hate sanding

Looking good so far, and you are already miles ahead of me.
Is that a through-neck, or a bolt on? And did you purchase the body pre-shaped, or did you carve it from a blank?
The middle of next month I am heading to my little bro's and will commence my first attempt at making a mock body for practice. If that goes well, I'll start on my first build as well...and I'm really nervous about doing it.

Maybe it's metric - 13 mm? What brand of tuners?

i cant belive i didn't think of that.... im canadian, ive been using metric my whole life. tuners are chinese ebay cheapies. ahhhh china, another country that uses metric.

this bass is a neckthrough build from a couple 1 x 6 boards. black walnut with maple in the middle, fingerboard of oak. this build started as a bolt on with a squire neck. it looked okay but it wasnt very stable. then i defretted it. then i took the body to the table saw a bucked the wings off and promised myself i would build a neck someday soon.
