I used to love sanding.
Now I hate it.
Really nice. Great job on the finish. The color looks great. Maybe Gibson should hire you for dark heritage cherry. I normally don't like tele control plates on Vs but that looks appropriate.
Nitro does that melty thing that prohibits building really thick. Honestly a little grain sink just makes it look more honest and authentic. Did you use sanding sealer before grain filling? Really it looks great in the pix. I wish my camera made my guitar look better! LolThanks man. I'll be honest the finish looks better in the pics than in the flesh. I didn't grain fill it very well so the finish has settled into the grain a bit. Sprayed a lot of nitro trying to fill it and eventually settled for what it is rather than sand it all back and start again. The whole process was a good learning curve.
In for a penny... Now you need bell-bottoms, a floppy hat, round purple sunglasses, curly long hair and a VW painted van!
I love it!
