First Cigarette....

So.,, ya, basically my life is kindof a pile, and im fairly nihilistic anyways, so I figured what the hell.

Strange thing tho. I like the smell, and the taste..... I've hung out with a LOT of smokers before and its never bothered me, so I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.

Any thoughts? Last will and testament? Funeral arrangements?

Easy to start, hard to quit.
It's all fun and games 'til someone loses a lung.
They are expensive and only going to go up.
Makes your clothes stink.
Gives you one more thing you have to do.
All that being said, I would start smoking again today if I didn't think it would kill me. (and I wasn't a cheap bastard)

Wow, that dude has a HUGE mouth. I kept expecting his head to split in half every time he opened his mouth.

If you're enough of a nihilist to truly not care about dying a very slow and very unpleasant death, go for it. Otherwise, quit while you're ahead. I've never talked to a single smoker who hasn't wished they had never started. No joke.

Consider this:

Tobacco corporations have a influential lobby with deep pockets and are greedy beyond belief. The tobacco lobby successfully raised higher taxes on rolling tobacco (and other OTP's) because it was cutting into the profits of tailor mades. This increase overshadowed the tax increase on tailor mades and was done so under the guise that rolling tobacco and chew was a greater burden on the healthcare systems.

CEOs of tobacco companies are among the richest and most elite of our society (hard fact to back up but if you don't believe these guys are hugely wealthy you are kidding yourself). Tobacco companies would eat their own young.

While admittedly not knowing the full meaning of nihilism; I find it ironic that you want to feed into the evil empire of tobacco but call yourself a nihilist.

I won't lie,...I've quit and fallen off the wagon,...but the points I make weigh heavily on my mind when I light up. Cigarettes are more addictive than heroin,...quit while you are ahead.

I've been a smoker for 40+ years and would not advise anyone to start. It is expensive (I could buy a lot more and more expensive basses if I had the money I've spent on tobacco.), filthy, frowned upon by polite society, and unhealthy. Other than that, I could probably give you several reasons not to start.
