Had only ever had formal piano and cello lessons when I was younger, before learning bass informally.
However, after a 15 year hiatus, my technique has dissolved, so I'm effectively 7 months as a bass player again.
So to fast track my progress, I went and got me one to one lesson with a great teacher who's prepared to ignore the theory/site reading aspects of training, and work strictly on my technique with progressively more challenging exercises.
Was a great start, and I'm keen to get back there next Monday, after a tonne of practising repetitive technical exercises.
