First Fender roundwound strings

Good morning. As many of you know, in 1966 John Entwistle collaborated with Rotosound on the first roundwound string. But I ask you: In what year did Fender produce its first round string? And what was the abbreviation? Thanks a lot.

I can testify to the fact that the 1951 precision bass had round wound strings as I played an original circa 1975 and it had the original strings in the case
and on the bass they were round wound.
