First practice with Ampeg RB-210

I've been using an RB210 since my wife and kids bought me one last year for Father's Day. I had been using an Ampeg BA210 which now resides in my studio. Last night at a show, our first btw, my guitar player remarked about how great the RB210 sounded. I can't recall the last time that happened. But I have to agree, it's a great combo.
On a side note- I generally play through a Boss GT-1B but typically don't change patches much. Last night I used a GK patch which is very mild for the most part and generally provides the compression I need. Last night's venue is a gigantic reverb tank so I wanted to make sure that muting was easy. If that makes sense. And I left the SGT off. SGT=Super Grit Technology.
I'm almost 70 and the slight weight reduction from the BA210 is appreciated. I don't have any problems with moving gear, but I seem to appreciate the late-night drive home a bit more than I did a few decades ago!

How do you find the Rocket Bass tone compared to the Traynor? And the Fender Rumble and GK too maybe while we’re at it?
I can only comment on the Traynor and the Ampeg. The Ampeg has a fuller sound, especially on the B string. I think because the Ampeg is pushing more air I can actually play at a lower volume and still be heard in the mix. I like a mild mid scoop. With the Traynor I needed to add a bit of mids and volume to be heard in the mix. The tone of both was excellent for the mix of songs our band covers. I could dial in my tone and leave it for the whole gig. I like simplicity so I can concentrate on my playing. I would say the Traynor has a slightly more modern tone with the Ampeg sounding more traditional rock. Both can dial in whatever tone you want. The Ampeg seemed easier to get the tone I was looking for. I haven't gigged the Ampeg yet so I don't know how it will sound in different rooms.

When I read band practice instead of rehearsal, I think about teens in high school who carried their trumpet around & are always talking about how they have band practice after school.
Having been a teen carrying a trumpet around I like to call rehearsal 'band practice' on occasion. But band practice was last period for credit, after school was for marching band which was an ordeal just for Fall.

I hear you. I had to switch fully over to light stuff last year. Always amazes me how much balls people have when they put down people for using light gear before knowing the first thing about their situation.
Wait till they get old like us .. they'll be singing a different tune ;) I mean playing a different amp.
