first semester back at georgia tech...

That is really amazing and congrats. Requiring specific education to find something you like sounds quite relevant in your field. My biology degree has nothing to do with my job in global logistics sales (dream job for a yuck like me).

I took some masters level courses but just couldn't take the lack of "real world" knowledge and ended up doing more fighting than learning. Academic concepts and reality seemed to clash and I was asked to leave.........and then later teach which I did and still sometimes do.

Glad to see you're doing good in school. I too will be going back to school in the fall at my local community college. I'm of the sort that didn't take school half as seriously as I should have the first go-around, and spent a lot of time goofing off with my buddies in class. What I ended up with was a horrible GPA and dropping out, which was about six years ago now. In those six years, I've come to realize how important it is to have a college education. It's not only that I hate leaving things unfinished, but I know I can do much better than that. A few classes I will most likely have to re-take as refreshers or to bring my grades up, but at this point I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
