Sure 'nuff was GREAT. I was just talking to John "Drumbo" French and he said they had hi hopes for the album, that song and Ditty Wah Ditty but there were "business things"....

Tool - Lateralus
My father actually got this album for Christmas, from one of his co-workers. The first thing I said upon hearing the track was "If you don't want it, can I can have it?"

Groundation - Hebron Gates
A rasta working at a local store started talking to me out of the blue and turns out this guy is studying music production in the UK. I told him I play bass, and he recommended Groundation. A modest amount of Norwegian currency later, this record started spinning and the rest is history

"More Than A Feeling" --Boston

They toured that first album to almost empty stadiums because the first single didn't catch fire right away. I got to see them up close and personal on that first tour. Wow, they were note-for-note perfect live.

When you get into the era of the "indy" bands and labels, "first song..." is a lot harder to nail down.

This just reminded me of two from a couple of indie bands I really like.
