First Song...First Side...First Album

10,000 Days is Tool's 4th album and it's the 4th song on that album.

Frances the Mute is Mars Volta's 2nd album and is the name of the album, there is no song called Frances the Mute.

There is a song called Frances the Mute, it's jsut not on that album. It's on the Frances the Mute single, look for it.

+282147680127649810 to RATM - Bombtrack

Tool - Opiate - Sweat,

If EP's don't count, than Intolerance off of Undertow is another.

Marilyn Manson - Cake and Sodomy

Great Thread Idea. So many good ones mentioned, I'll add:

Liz Phair - 6'1"
Paul Simon - Mother and Child Reunion
Uncle Tupelo - Graveyard Shift
Air - La Femme d'Argent
My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow (I think this qualifies)

It Won't Be Long - Beatles - With the Beatles (UK First Release)

That was Beatles' second release in the UK.

My choices, in no particular order, are:

- "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N' Roses
- "More Than A Feeling" by boston
- "I Saw Her Standing There" by The Beatles

There are lots other great debut tracks like Rush's "Finding My Way", Kiss' "Strutter", Van Halen's "Runnin' With The Devil", Black Sabbath's eponymous song and AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" (first song in their international discography), but to me none of them is as impressive as the ones listed above considering them as the songs selected to create first impressions. In that sense I put "I Saw Her Standing There" slightly aside since The Beatles already had a couple of well-known single hits when their first album was released.
