First time ever using Flats

A thing to consider when trying flats (other than set-up) is amp/effects/signal adjustment. I've come across lots of players who don't like "knob twiddling" and try them at the same settings that have always worked.

There will be a huge EQ difference for starters. Most flats have a lot of low-mids as well as fundamental bass, don't be afraid to cut quite a lot around 100-300 and add perhaps a little around 2.5k for a bit of grit.

Flats will produce a strong signal via your pickups and most effects will be more pronounced, so adjustments will probably be needed there.

I use rounds too, so not exclusively flats, but I first put some flats on a bass around 1978 (not a clue which brand), have watched them gain popularity again via forums etc but also many give up on them for the same reasons.
